Chemical Requirement OF AS 1074 PIPES

2.1 PROCESS OF MANUFACTURE. Tubes may be either welded or seamless .

2.2 MATERIAL. Steel pipe production should be made of steel with a sulfur content of no more than 0.045% and a phosphorus content of no more than 0.045%. The carbon equivalent, as determined by the subsequent formula, should remain below 0.4:

The selected pipe shall be cut out and its length or shape shown according to the AS 1391 standard
(a) minimum yield strength:195 MPa;
(b) tensile strength:320 MPa to 460 MPa;
(c) at the specified length of 5.65√So, the elongation reaches at least 20%, where So represents the original cross-sectional area of the specimen.
NOTE: When other measurement methods are used to calculate the length, the corresponding elongation is set to 5.65√So, which can be determined by BS 3894:Part 1.

Mechanical Requirement OF AS 1074 Carbon Steel Pipe

Our AS 1074 carbon steel pipes also meet all mechanical requirements. This includes tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and hardness. These properties are crucial for the pipe’s ability to withstand pressure, resist deformation, and maintain its shape under stress. With UNIASEN, you’re getting a product that’s built to withstand the toughest conditions.

FAQs about AS 1074

AS/NZS stands for Australian/New Zealand Standard. It is a set of technical specifications and guidelines developed by Standards Australia and Standards New Zealand, respectively.

These standards are used to ensure the quality, safety, and performance of products and services in both Australia and New Zealand.

In the context of steel pipes, AS/NZS standards may specify requirements for dimensions, materials, and performance characteristics. This ensures that the pipes meet the necessary standards for use in different applications.

UNIASEN also provides standards such as AS 1163. If you have more needs, please contact us.

AS 1074 is a carbon steel pipe standard issued by Standards Australia. It stipulates various technical and performance requirements for carbon steel pipes to ensure their reliability and safety in different uses. We provide specific performance requirements and parameters.

AS 1074 is suitable for a range of carbon steel pipes, including pipes used for water transmission, structural and mechanical applications. If you have other needs, contact us for a free quote.

Our sizes cover DN 8 to DN 150 (nominal sizes).

We work with standards-compliant certification bodies to carry out the necessary testing and verification. Such as sealing test and bending test.

UNISEN’s tightness testing includes online non-destructive testing and hydrostatic testing.

Bend testing primarily determines a pipe’s ability to resist breaking or failing under pressure.

Through the above tests and inspections, we ensure that our products fully comply with AS 1074 standards.
