Chemical Requirement

ASTM A252 is a standard seamless and spiral welded steel pipe pile specification.

The standard requires steel to contain no more than 0.050% phosphorus. Other elements are consistent with general carbon steel materials.

ASTM A252 Grade 3: Most Commonly Used Materials

ASTM A252 Grade 3 may be the most commonly used material in some applications. It is often used on projects that resist more demanding geological and engineering conditions. This is because it has a high tensile strength of 66,000 psi (455 MPa), corrosion resistance, and good impact toughness.

However, A252 Grade 1 or Grade 2 pipe may be more suitable in some cases, particularly in relatively light civil engineering or general infrastructure projects.

ASTM A252 Applications
