JIS G 3466

JIS G 3466 Meaning

JIS G 3466 is a standard formulated by the Japanese Industrial Standards Association (JIS). It specifies requirements for cold-formed and hot-rolled seamless welded carbon steel structural tubes. These pipes are commonly used in construction, machine building, bridges and other structural engineering.

JIS G 3466 standard scope

  • Square Structural Pipes
Pipes with a square cross-section for supporting and carrying loads.
  • Rectangular Structural Pipes
Pipes with a rectangular cross-section, also used for support and load-bearing in structural engineering.
  • Circular Structural Pipes
Pipes with a circular cross-section, suitable for various engineering applications.

Currently, we at UNIASEN provide JIS G 3466 Carbon Steel Square Tube and Rectangular Tube.

Specifications

We offer JIS G 3466 Carbon Steel Square and Rectangular Tubes in two different steel grades: STKR400 and STKR490.
STKR400 grade has excellent weldability and toughness. It makes it ideal for general structural applications.
The STKR490 grade offers increased strength and is suitable. It suite structures requiring superior load-bearing capacity.
Our tubing is available in STKR400 and STKR490 steel grades. Each with unique properties for various applications.

Requirements

The standard specifies the requirements for the size, dimensional tolerances, chemical composition, mechanical properties, etc. of these pipes.
These requirements are intended to ensure that pipes have sufficient strength, durability and stability for various engineering applications.
UNIASEN’s JIS G 3466 Carbon Steel Square and Rectangular Tubes are available in various sizes to suit your specific needs. From small projects to major infrastructure developments, we can supply pipe in the dimensions you require.

It should be noted that the JIS G 3466 standard is an applicable standard in Japan. It is used to specify the quality and performance of steel structure pipes sold in the domestic market. If you are considering using these pipes in another country, you may need to understand the relevant standards and regulations in that region.
